UNARCHIVED

As part of the festival UNSELECT
of the Kleine Humboldt Galerie

14.7.2019, Invalidentstr. 110, Berlin
Curated by Nicole Wittmann, Karoline Winter and Niklas Obermann

What image comes to mind when we think of the term “archive”? What or who can be an archive? What does archiving mean, and what might archival practice look like? These questions clearly show that there cannot be just one kind of archive. Rather, there are archives in the plural, which defy a clear definition. If we understand archives not merely as spaces or containers in which material is stored, new perspectives and concepts open up: archives as living organisms, as metabolizing organs that, beyond their conservative function, possess powers waiting to be discovered and unleashed.

As part of the framework programme we showed the erformance „to: my future body“ of the educational programme of KW - Institute for Contemporary Art.
