Niklas Obermann is a curator, writer and cultural manager. Together with artists he develops projects, that investigate historical narratives, social conflicts, as well as the production and distribution of knowledge. Currently, he is the editor of „Nairobi Print Project”, a platform for arts publications, and works on curatorial projects with institutions in Nairobi and Kampala. Previously, he was responsible for the cultural programme of the Goethe-Institut Nairobi, where he initiated projects emphasizing inclusivity and sustainability, expanded the institutions audience and built lasting partnerships. He holds a BA in art history from Humboldt-University in Berlin and an MA in the same subject from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg. In 2026, he was named curator-in-residence at the Artist Residency Schloss Balmoral and invited to be part of the CuratorLab in Stockholm.
